Once Upon A Mattress Spring 2012

If you thought you knew the story of 'The Princess and The Pea,' you may be in for a walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that, in fact, it wasn't the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar tale of royal courtship and comeuppance from the Rodgers and Hammerstein library of classics provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you'll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again!

Rachel’s career in theater began as a Christmas angel in the 8th grade play. Upon entering high school she immediately joined Little Theater. During her four years at Belleville West she was either a student director, back stage or on stage for every performance. Junior year Rachel was elected to Thespian Troop 369. In college she performed on stage in Cinderella and Get Smart. To her delight Belleville has offered an opportunity to continue in theater with the Brass Rail Players and Take a Bow Showcase. Rachel would like take this opportunity to thank her family and friends for their support. A special thank you to all present and former directors for their encouragement and inspiration.
